January 23, 2012: MARK YOUR CALENDAR. PLAN TO ATTEND. The Animal Shelter Project cost review - the next critical step - is now scheduled for the Board of Supervisors Meeting of Tuesday, January 31st. We do not yet have a time estimate, but it will not be discussed before 10:00 am. We will post an estimate here as soon as we can. It is essential for us to continue to urge the Board of Supervisors to COMPLETE the permanent animal shelter - THE WHOLE PROJECT - NOT JUST AN ACCESS ROAD. Email your supervisor urging the Board to take action to keep this project moving forward to complete the much needed permanant Animal Shelter.
The Board of Supervisors approved two key actions on 11/15/11 that moved the Shelter project forward, including authorizing the project Architect to resume work after 2 1/2 years. In addition to preparing the building's plans to go out to bid, the next critical task is to provide updated construction cost estimates. Please see our November Update for the details (it's on our News Page).
