Animal Shelter Coalition for El Dorado County

        WESTERN SLOPE ANIMAL SHELTER
Bids Submitted - Contractor Selected - Construction Begins in March!

February 26, 2014 Update:  After years of set backs, meetings and advocacy efforts, IT'S FINALLY A REALITY! A new El Dorado County Animal Shelter will be under construction in about three weeks at the Diamond Springs site the County purchased in July.

Bids came in under budget; the lowest bidder is a local contractor, D. G. Granade; and since the construction is renovation of an existing building it's a short build schedule.  This great new facility will be complete by the end of this year.

We thank the Board for moving this project forward and taking action to complete the permanent West Slope Animal Shelter.

THANK YOU-THANK YOU SHELTER SUPPORTERS!  Without your continued advocacy, urging elected officials to complete the project, this community would not be realizing this long held goal.   Great work.  2014 is shaping up to be a great year for companion animals in El Dorado County.
